About Us

Green Gold Forestry Peru SA is conserving the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest by creating a sustainable forest economy on land once destined to be logged.

We are a trusted partner for NGOs, businesses and governments who want to protect the Amazon Rainforest, improve the livelihoods of local communities, and promote economic development in remote rural areas of Peru.

WHAT WE DO

Conservation of ecosystems and carbon storage

Our high-quality carbon reduction project is one of the largest conservation initiatives in Peru, protecting 254,000 hectares of Amazonian rainforest, and delivering 10 million metric tons of CO² reductions over 20 years

Sustainable use of natural resources

We are investing in the local economy, supporting indigenous communities, and focusing on the sustainable use of non-timber forest products such as nuts, fruits, and oils

Development and inclusion of communities

Our local approach supports indigenous communities in Peru to improve livelihoods, build climate resilience, and protect ecosystems, culture, and biodiversity

Research and innovation

We are investing in research and development programs in collaboration with some of the world’s leading universities and scientific organizations to increase our impact and support forest restoration

Our Commitments

We are committed to the highest international standards in sustainability and conservation. Our work contributes towards achieving nine of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

VERIFIED CARBON STANDARD CERTIFICATION

We are registered through Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard certification scheme and our methodology has been validated by SCS Global Services. The VCS Program enables certified projects to turn their greenhouse gas emission reductions and removals into tradable carbon credits.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

We measure our impact against the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 1 (no poverty), 2 (zero hunger), 3 (good health and well-being), 5 (gender equality), 6 (clean water and sanitation), 8 (decent work and economic growth), 10 (reducing inequalities), 13 (climate action) and 15 (life on earth).

GGF is certified for Forest Management and Chain of Custody (through the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC®)) This certification demonstrates GGF’s responsible management of its forest, harvesting resources in a sustainable way and providing sustained benefits for communities.
