We are excited to share an update from our Forestry Team in collaboration with Wildlife Conservation Society.

We recently conducted a Non-Timber Forest Products Census focused on the chambira palm (Astrocaryum chambira) in the Native Community of Villa Monte Alegre, located in the Marañón River basin.

This significant step brings us closer to obtaining the Management Declaration (DEMA), a certification that ensures the crafts made from these palms come from sustainably managed forests.

A special thanks to the Chambira Artisans Association of the community, especially to the talented women artisans, whose support was essential for the success of this fieldwork.

Let’s continue working together for a sustainable future!
