From November 21st to 24th, Green Gold Forestry – GGF, in collaboration with the Centro de Desarrollo del Indígena Amazónico – CEDIA, Federación de Comunidades de la Cuenca del Río Napo, Curaray y Arabela – FECONAMNCUA, and the Gerencia Regional de Pueblos Originarios del Gobierno Regional de Loreto – GRDPO, hosted the presentation of 8 life plans for the communities: CN Berlin, CN Santa Maria de Loreto, CN Santa Teresa, CN Santa Rosa, CN Chambira, CN Vencedores de Vista Alegre, CN Bellavista, and CN San Felipe – Napo middle basin, at the facilities of the Gerencia Regional de Desarrollo Agrario Y Riego de Loreto (GERDAGRI), Loreto.

The meeting was attended by local governmental and non-governmental authorities active in the area, including GRDPO, GERDAGRI, GERFOR[1], GREL[2], DIREPRO[3], GRAM[4], GRTC[5], ORPIO[6], SUB REGION NAPO, AGROIDEAS, U.S. FOREST SERVICE, IIAP[7], SERNANP[8], OSINFOR[9], PROCREA, FORMABIAP[10], PNP[11] and CEDIA[12]. As a result of the presentations, the authorities made diverse commitments to the communities aimed at enhancing access to essential services, preserving culture and identity, fostering communal well-being, managing natural resources, strengthening community organization, and boosting the economy in the beneficiary communities.

During the event, community members underwent a two-day training session to present their life plans, showcasing their goals and objectives to the authorities. These life plans, developed through interactive sessions with the technical support of Green Gold Forestry and CEDIA, offer a comprehensive analysis of each community’s present situation, identifying specific needs and proposing alternative solutions. The gathered information was consolidated into documents submitted to the competent authorities to drive effective actions. This comprehensive approach not only highlights the challenges but also presents viable pathways for progress, seeking close collaboration with governmental and non-governmental entities to achieve a sustainable and positive impact in these communities.

Through this initiative, GGF is leading integral community development through close partnerships with local authorities. This not only ensures improved quality of life, but also promotes long-term sustainability, empowering communities to manage and maintain these developments themselves.
